As 2008 comes to a close, we are really enjoying being home with our families. We hope you have been able to enjoy this Christmas as much as we did.

Even though ‘08 ends on a downward trend and we all face uncertainties in the days ahead we, can be sure of one thing - God is still on His throne and is in control.

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Seeing family

After 3 full days home, we have connected with both kids and both moms as well as Fran’s sister & Jackie’s sister and younger brother. It is great to see everyone and we look forward to seeing Fran’s brother and Jackie’s oldest brother on Christmas if not before.

It is frigid cold here right now. Our first day back it was about 70 degrees. Right now - Monday morning - it is 22 with an expected high of 36. However they are predicting a high of 70 for Friday. Wacky weather!

With Christmas just around the corner, all we want for Christmas is 8 hours sleep. We’ve got a bad case of jet lag. So far, the best we’ve done is 6 hours. Looking forward to sleeping in and enjoying a 9 hour night

I wonder how many parents of school age children experienced a school’s “Winter Program” like the one described in this article?

One program I attended featured songs about Santa, chimneys, and reindeer, plus five Hanukkah tunes and one Kwanzaa melody – even though the school had only one (nonpracticing) Jewish family, and not a single African-American. Ninety musical minutes with nary a note about Jesus.
I know Christianity will survive whether censored out of public schools or not, but that’s not the point. Why bend over backward to acknowledge religious minorities while singling out Christianity for exclusion?

You might get a surprise the next time you come around to check us out. I know - why would you do that? We never post anything any more, huh.

Well, I’ve been trying to get around to moving the blog to a new host and finally just decided to go ahead and move - even if I’m not quite ready. So - it might be rough sailing for a while, until I can get everything moved and reconnected. Please bear with me.
