One of my alltime favorites for image viewing and minor adjusting (resizing, brightness, contrast, etc).

AVG
AntiVirus protection

FireFox
Use it instead of Internet Explorer

Spybot
Spyware eliminator

Skype
Make free phone calls (computer to computer). Great quality.

MW Snap
A screen capture application. I use this one a lot in my work. It takes a snapshot of any rectangular portion of what’s on your screen. You then save it as a jpg picture. Cool.

Foxit
I just found this one. A PDF file viewer that is small, loads fast, and doesn’t write anything to the registry.

Edit Pad Lite
Replaces your notepad (opens many file types). Download link is at bottom of page.

Atomic Clock Sync

Set your computer clock with up to the second accuracy (then go set all of your other clocks by it!)

Makes great photo albums

Pie Size
Show the relative sizes of the files in any directory

Audacity
Excellent audio file editor

VideoLan
Opens almost any video file you might want to view

Filezilla
Really good FTP program

GTDTiddyWiki
A really amazing information organizer. Takes a little effort to figure out - but it is way cool!

Gmail - Great email application. Give me a holler if you need an invitation
